The University Education Commission of 1948-49: This was the first education commission established in India, which was headed by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. The commission was established to review the state of university education in India and to make recommendations for its improvement.

The National Policy on Education of 1968: This policy, which was formulated by the government of India, outlined the objectives and framework for the development of education in India.
The National Policy on Education of 1986: This policy was a revised version of the 1968 policy and it focused on the expansion of education, particularly in the areas of primary education, adult education and vocational education.
The National Policy on Education of 1992: This policy emphasized on the need for universalization of primary education, introduction of a national system of education, and the establishment of a network of open universities.
The Report of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) Committee on ‘RTE Act Implementation’ of 2010: This commission was established to review the implementation of the Right to Education Act, which made education a fundamental right for children aged 6 to 14 in India.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020: This is the most recent education policy of India which aims to bring about a comprehensive reform of the education system in India, with an emphasis on equity and inclusion, and to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) to 50% by 2035.
