UGC NET Paper 1 — Unit-Wise Practice Sets (2026-27)

The UGC NET (National Eligibility Test) is a national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to determine eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. The exam is held twice a year and consists of two papers, both conducted on the same day: Paper 1, which is common to all candidates regardless of their subject, and Paper 2, which is specific to the candidate’s chosen subject.

UGC NET Paper 1, officially titled the “General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude,” is designed to assess a candidate’s teaching and research aptitude, along with general awareness and reasoning ability. It carries 50 questions worth 100 marks and must be completed within one hour as part of the combined three-hour exam.
